Frequently Asked Questions
Below are a few questions we commonly receive from patients and doctors about Advanced Patient Imaging. Click on the questions below to expand answers.
Do I Need An Order From My Doctor?
Yes, Ohio Law Requires A Script For Medical Imaging
You will need a script from your doctor before you can have a MRI or Ultrasound (the only exception is for a Vascular Screening). Please bring a written script from your doctor on the day of your scheduled procedure.
Do You Take Insurance?
We Work For You, Not The Insurance Companies
Advanced Patient Imaging does not accept or participate in Medicare, Medicaid or any private insurance programs. This is the only reason we can charge what we want instead of what insurance companies require (click here to read more). The amount you pay may be applied toward your deductible based on the terms of your insurance plan but it will be your responsibility to file a claim follow up with your insurance provider to determine your status once the claim is submitted.
Why Is Payment Due At The Time Of Service?
Insurance Companies Inflate The Cost Of Health Care
We do not accept payments directly from any insurance company. If we did it would dramatically increase our overhead costs and make it impossible to keep our prices the lowest in Cincinnati while passing those savings on to you. This is due to the fact that medical providers contract with insurance companies for "negotiated rates" that they must accept and charge their patients. Our prices are lower than any negotiated rates offered in the market place (click here to read more).
Therefore, payment is due at the time of service. We accept major credit cards and debit cards as the method of payment.
Why Should I Pay Upfront If I Have Insurance?
Insurance Is Not Prepaid Healthcare
Guess who pays the bill if you haven’t reached your deductible? That’s right…YOU DO. It’s a fact that most people never reach their annual deductible, which means you end up paying for all of your health care throughout the year.
If you have not met your deductible for the year or have a co-insurance, then all or part of the charges for your imaging exam will be your responsibility, which could cost you hundreds or thousands out-of-pocket.
For example, if you have an individual plan with a deductible of $4,000 and you receive a medical bill in the amount of $1,200 for an MRI, the insurance company will not pay anything until you reach your deductible. Therefore, you will pay the entire amount out-of-pocket. Would you rather pay $1,200 for an MRI or would you rather pay $395 for an MRI? In other words, would you like to keep $805 in your pocket or give it to a hospital?
Why Are Your Prices So Low?
Our Business Model
Advanced Patient Imaging developed our
business model centered on low fixed costs. We do not
have excessive operating or overhead costs like most large hospitals
or outpatient diagnostic centers. This allows us to offer
individuals who may have no insurance, high deductible or co-insurance
plans an affordable medical imaging option without sacrificing quality
of service. Bottom Line: We pass the savings on to you
instead of maximizing our profits. Amazing right?
Yeah, we think so too!

Do I Still Receive Quality Of Service With Your Low Prices?
Higher Cost Does Not Equal Higher Quality or Better Outcomes
We utilize the same technology offered in the majority of hospitals and imaging centers throughout the country. We use a 1.5T G.E. MRI scanner that is considered the gold standard for an MRI in a clinical setting. Advanced Patient Imaging is committed to providing our patients with the best service at the best price. We employ a friendly, professional, caring staff with years of experience and specialty training. Our radiologists are board-certified by the American Board of Radiology.
Do You Charge Any Additional Fees?
One Flat Fee, All Inclusive
At Advanced Patient Imaging, you always know the total cost prior to your exam. Hospitals and many imaging facilities typically have two separate fees for imaging services. One fee is for the facility and another fee is for the radiologist who interprets your exam. Most facilities do not disclose the total cost prior to your exam and have additional hidden fees added on to the final bill. We provide true price transparency with our all inclusive pricing. We have no additional charges or hidden fees.
Why Do You Offer This Service At These Prices?
Advanced Patient Imaging is leading the way in delivering an affordable solution to medical imaging in the overpriced marketplace. We have designed our business model around YOU.
We Look Forward To Serving You.
